Today, fastjet connects the three major cities in Zimbabwe by flying between Harare & Victoria Falls and Harare & Bulawayo. Internationally the airline offers flights from Harare, Bulawayo & Victoria Falls to Johannesburg in South Africa.

Since commencing operations fastjet has flown over 3.5 million passengers and has established itself as a punctual and reliable airline brand, with a range of value-added products and services which includes free baggage allowances, flexible change options, multiple payment channels, airport lounge access on select routes, and options with other service providers such as car hire.

Fastjet currently operates Embraer ERJ145 aircraft. These aircraft offer a seat choice of either a window or aisle seat. This eye-catching fleet can easily be seen in the distance owing to their distinct parrot logo and touches of bright red and yellow on the aircrafts' wings and engines.

Fastjet new routes for 2022 will now include flights between Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe and Nelspruit, Kruger Mpumalanga, South Africa.

Cabin Baggage

Each customer is allowed to carry one item of cabin baggage free of charge. It should weigh no more than 7 kg with maximum dimensions of 55 x 35 x 20 cm. In addition, a small handbag or personal item may also be taken on board provided it does not exceed 40 x 30 x 15 cm. It must be placed under the seat directly in front of you. Customers travelling with infants may also take a small bag containing immediate use items with them. Should any cabin baggage exceed the dimensions mentioned above, it will be checked in and charged as hold baggage at airport prices, should the checked baggage allowance be exceeded.

Checked Baggage

Checked baggage allowances will vary according to the fare option selected. A ValueFlyer fare includes one (1) piece of checked baggage, whilst a FlexiFlyer fare includes two (2) pieces of checked baggage. Checked baggage allowance is based on a piece concept with a prescribed weight of 23 kg per piece. Customers may purchase one (1) additional piece of checked baggage. Checked baggage allowance is interchangeable with sports equipment or musical instruments.

Customers are permitted to purchase one (1) additional piece of checked baggage. Fastjet recommends customers pre-purchase this via Manage My Booking on www.fastjet.com, the Call Centre or at a fastjet sales shop. Additional checked baggage purchased at the airport will be charged at a premium rate.

Each piece of checked baggage is limited to 23 kg with excess weight permitted at a fee and subject to availability up to a maximum of 32 kg. For safety reasons, no single item can exceed 32 kg or a combined maximum dimension of 81cm + 119cm + 119cm = 319cm.

Fastjet Baggage Allowances

ValueFlyer fares include one (1) piece of free checked baggage and FlexiFlyer fares include two (2) pieces of checked baggage. The maximum weight permitted perpiece is 23kg. Customers may travel with one (1) additional piece of checked baggage. The free Checked baggage may be interchange with sports equipment or musical instruments.

If your bag exceeds 23 kg, you will be charged extra for each additional kg. Oversized bags presented as checked baggage will be charged an excess rate provided that the bag is within the acceptable dimensions prescribed by the airport operator.

Pre-book your baggage online via the airlines website at www.fastjet.com up to one (1) hour prior to your flight departure, via the Manage my Booking option, through the call centre or at a fastjet sales shop and save.

Travel systems (baby stroller or pram), baby car seats and up to two mobility aids fly FREE OF CHARGE.

There is NO refund or partial payment if your checked bag weighs less than the permitted weight per piece.

Smart bags

Fastjet permits customers to travel with Smart Bags provided the lithium battery is disconnected and removed at the check-in counter. The bag must adhere to the size and weight restrictions mentioned above. The battery must be carried with you into the aircraft cabin. For safety reasons, if you are unable to remove the battery fastjet will not accept it for carriage. This is in line with IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.

Fastjet check-in desks open two (2) hours before the scheduled departure time and close exactly 40 minutes before the scheduled departure time.

Your booking confirmation receipt with proof of identification, either a national issued identity document or valid passport for international travel will be required for check-in.

The airline does not at this stage offer online check-in.

If you arrive at the check-in desk late (less than 40 minutes before departure) you will be denied boarding. Fastjet tickets are non-refundable in the event of late arrival or when you are unable to fly due to personal circumstances. Fastjet will consider a refund request in the unfortunate event of the death or hospitalisation of a booked customer only. Documentation proving such will need to be submitted along with the refund request.

Snacks and Refreshments

Fastjet offers a complimentary snack on all flights.

Mobile phones and any device using wireless data services can be used when at cruising altitude, only if the flight safe mode is enabled. Cabin crew will advise when these items can and cannot be used.
