Best time to visit Guinea

Guinea, like many other equatorial countries, has two main seasons: a wet and dry season. Guinea is one of the wettest countries in Africa, with a monsoon season that has locals retreating to their homes until the skies clear again. This season lasts from June to November, and it is not an ideal time to visit. The dry season is ideal for wildlife viewing, mountain trekking and general sightseeing. This falls between November and March. In terms of temperature, Guinea is generally hot all year, with varying amounts of humidity found in in the highlands and coastal cities.

The capital city of Conakry is your typical West African city centre. Here, you may not find tall skyscrapers and modern buildings, but in its place, you’ll find smiling faces, local trinkets, invitations to enjoy indigenous cuisine and rustic markets to wander through.
